>"Nobody (as far as I know) has commented on how hard this year of lockdowns has been on university professors. That’s good: nobody should. Many millions of workers at home and abroad, and those who have lost employment, or their health, have had a far worse time. In part because of COVID-19, and in even…"

Things over the past year - family and friends die torturous deaths alone, without funerals. Many, like my sister, ranks into deep depressions on knowing how badly her husband suffered. But finally, after a year of being locked down, she had dinner with two friends. Dealing with traumas we might not know is destructive. It's like going up to a veteran experiencing PTSD and flashbacks and saying "Oh, pff. The war is over." For some, the COVID war is not over. Let them be. A year from now we are going to need some hardnose thinking about make sure everybody gets their booster shots to make sure this doesn’t happen again. I don’t want it to be a matter of feelings again.

I have horrific social anxiety and I can genuinely say I’ve had the best year of my life. My work went to work from home and I suddenly had commuting time to use how I like. I’ve enjoyed knowing that every time the doorbell has rang, it’s been for a delivery and not for an unannounced visit from someone. I’ve had bad skin my whole life. Not spots, just bad dry patches on my face. I only wear make up in office because I’m truly very ugly and it makes me slightly less noticeable to do so. I stopped wearing make up on day one of lockdown, my skin has fully cleared up and I now have the confidence to go everywhere without feeling judged for no make up. I really enjoyed this last year. I’m going to be really sad to have to return to commuting to a job I’ve proven can be done from home with absolutely no interruption.

What is needed is that anthropologists start to engage in at least informed speculation about the behaviours, motives, and possible outcomes of documented alien engagements. One has to also wonder if our responses and reactions are being catalogued and analyzed, right now, by alien anthropologists. What conclusions are they reaching? What do the patterns of behaviour of their vessels suggest about what they are studying, how they study it, and why they are studying it?
