Even if you can justify kneeling on someone as Chauvin did to Floyd it seems to me that any reasonable person would know to stop once the person is no longer resisting. Derek Chauvin was on camera kneeling on George Floyd's neck for over 9 minutes. It wasn't a split second decision. There were bystanders calling out the action and a paramedic asking to check his vitals. Chauvin continued kneeling on the neck of a unresponsive person who had entirely stopped resisting for enough time to listen to the entirety of Radiohead's "Creep." That's a radio friendly song, but if you listen to it you can put in perspective how long 4 minutes actually lasts. It seems clear to me that this is a case of murder.

[@jonomilo](/user/profile/jonomilo) Chauvin was definitely wrong to do what he did but he will probably get off because officers are trained to do exactly what he did. He will have to answer to God. Now, the Big Pharma Murder Machine pumping our nation full of pills, that's a conversation we should be having. And we could get a conviction in our courts. Your programming will return after this commercial from Johnson and Johnson.

I find it disturbing that you would even allude to the idea that Chauvin is being "lynched" by simply having to defend his actions in court, that fact alone is disturbing on a number of levels, the prosecution, numerous medical examiners, cardiologist have all testified to the exact opposite, that George had a strong heart, that the amounts of drugs found in his system were nominal to non-efficient amounts to cause arrhythmia, further the cause of death points directly to positional asphyxia ie; Derek Chauvin planting his knee on George's neck for what far exceeded the time, force and amount necessary to subdue someone in custody. What you've done is not only individualize but medicalize George's death in a deeply racist manner, the charges against Chavuin aren't even what's truly deemed necessary in this case, Derek Chauvin is a murderer full stop, the whole world watched him do so, along with 18 other counts of misconduct and 7 other cases of fatal use of force all attest to this, 2nd degree manslaughter is far and away what should be on the table when sentencing him, the Hennepin county police union, a racist policing & justice system are all standing in the way of a truly critical investigation of what he's done.

[@jonomilo](/user/profile/jonomilo) Agree. [@yusufkhan](/user/profile/yusufkhan) do people here actually think it's ok that a cop kneels on an unresponsive person's neck? That should be a pretty quick change of enforcement, no? You don't think a cop kneeling on an unresponsive person's neck is an abuse of power? That's actually fascinating to me

[@yusufkhan](/user/profile/yusufkhan) He wasn't the worst person in the world. He did have a lot of friends and loved ones, and I think he mentored kids. He had his problems, but he was pretty decently accomplished, compared to most people. He didn't deserve to die. In truth, he was a well loved person. I recall on TV, several people spoke well of him after he died. Everyone they interviewed had fond memories of old George. He was involved in some youth training or enrichment program, something to help kids.
